Black & Decker HC306 1-1/2-Cup One-Touch Electric Chopper (Kitchen) I totally love this little chopper. Two have broken on me now, though. The plastic that flips it into place jammed both times. I won’t be a sucker for a third time.

Hamilton Beach 70573H Big Mouth Food Processor , Black (Kitchen) Even though I got this for a STEAL at Walmart ($35), it was still NOT worth it. Where do I start? Besides being somewhat noisy and requiring too many parts to put in place just to operate the thing, the design of this product fails in two other major places. The blade design does not draw larger pieces down to be chopped – they end up floating on top of what is finely mashed at the bottom of the container. And secondly and most importantly, you CANNOT fill the container all the way to make use of the ’14-cup’ design as anything that is close enough to liquid will fall between the motor shaft and the inner container lip which ends about 1/2 way up the container, leaking out from the bottom of the container. Just get anything besides this product is my only recommendation.

Black Black & Decker Food Processor & Blender , Wide Mouth Combo (Kitchen) I bought this processor in June 2010. I was convinced I needed one despite never having one before, so one weary night I was surprised by this one. It wasn’t the one I had picked out but I accepted it gratefully.I have tried shredding cheese in it once and chopping a veggie or two, but it didn’t work so well. That’s ok with me. I have good knives for the veggies, I chop good I use this for more complicated projects and it does a beautiful job. I make my own nut butters (forewarning, this process takes about 10 minutes, and that’s normal for the nuts to release oil), hummus and banana soft serve (add peanutbutter at the end and top with caramel topping!)Another favorite: snow cones! We put the shredding disc in and drop ice through the chute. It makes great, I mean just perfect ‘snow’.My only complaint is that the processor bowl is not terribly well made. My kitty knocked my first one down a couple of weeks after I received it and the whole thing split comPletely unusable! But it was replaced for free our local seller. I have had no more problems since.I also happen to think it looks nice on the counter. Especially if you leave the glass pitcher on it.

Oster BLSTCC-BFP 6-Cup Glass Jar 12-Speed Blender Plus 3-Cup Food Processor , Black (Kitchen) This blender processor set is unfortunately poorly made. I have been a big fan of Oster and have owned some very durable Oster blenders in the past. However, this particular item does not speak to the quality the Oster brand has had. The blender, which for the price was ok, did make decent smoothies and crush ice OK (it would have to blend for a while) but on certain attempts to blend, the motor would not rotate, make a strange noise,(as if it wanted to rotate but could not ) and require the use of a knife or external utensil to rotate the food that needed to be blended in order for the motor to start up again.The processor piece is terrible. This I must emphasize. Not only did the lid break UPON FIRST USE, but the actual blade is extremely low quality. I was attempting to make pesto and it did not have an easy time with a few basil leaves, grated Parmesan and olive oil. I wasn’t even able to stick in the pine nuts!!Overall, for the price, the blender may be OK (if you don’t mind stopping the motor, sticking’ in a spoon, etc..) but the processor is a no go… I have unfortunately sent this item back.

Cuisinart DLC-4CHB Mini-Prep Plus 4-Cup Food Processor , Brushed Stainless Steel (Kitchen) The lid got stuck and wouldn’t come off. I Googled it and it seemed like a lot of other people had the same problem, and Cuisinart ‘s only solution is to just give them MORE money for a replacement part. I called Cuisinart to ask if they had any solution for it, first the rep acted like I was crazy for asking how to fix that problem, and then she just kept telling me it was out of warranty and I should just buy a new one. Thanks, but I’d rather not waste any more money.

Cuisinart BFP-603 SmartPower Deluxe Blender and Food Processor (Kitchen) We were deliberating on buying a food processor for sometime now and saw a similar deal in Macy’s on black Friday – but the price here proved to be better than the black Friday sale and I got an extra blending jar here.So far it has been working very well.. We made Pesto’s, Indian gravy with ease; chopped veggies finely without breaking a sweat. So far it has been a satisfying product for us.Oh and read the instruction manual before using it – nothing great but when we tried to pulse the light was just blinking and thought it was defective – and later realized that we have to press pulse and after than press low/high..

Its price, capacity, and the reviews lead me to get this one.I have just used it to make hummus, which was my primary reason for buying it.It is simple in design, large, and I see no problems with it. It has suction cups on the bottom which keep it very steady. It has three buttons, ‘Off/Pulse’, ‘High’, and ‘Low’ and simple but effective safety mechanisms (it won’t work if it is open).Its operation is very effective. It turned a can of chickpeas and the rest of the hummus ingredients into a uniform creamy mix in only a few seconds using ‘Pulse’ (where it works while you hold the button down).And, importantly, it was simple and easy to clean. Nothing leaked or required any effort. The bowl, blades and top were easy to clean by hand.As long as it functions, it is a very good machine.
